One of the main reason that winter is special for everyone is carrot halwa. Gajar ka halwa is an easy, delicious, and mouth-watering dessert. It is made with milk, carrots, and sugar etc. We will make gajar ka halwa only using 3 ingredients. Let start the Gajar ka halwa recipe without khoya, dry fruits, and ghee.
INGREDIENTS:
Milk 1 Litre
Carrot 1 and 1/2kg
Sugar 1 cup or as per taste
Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
Pista(optional) 1/3 cup
Almonds(optional) 1/3 cup
Cashew nuts(Kaju) optional 1/3 cup
DIRECTION:
1. Take carrots, wash and peel them with a knife or cutter.
2. After peeling, grate it with a grater in the bowl.
3. In the separate saucepan, add grated carrots.
4. Cook it on medium speed or medium flame.
5. Time to time stir it with a spoon.
6. When the milk is absorbed by carrots completely, add 1 cup of sugar.
7. Add cardamom powder and mix it with the carrots very well.
8. Sugar leaves the water, stir it continuously so that halwa does not stick with the base of the saucepan.
9. When water is completely absorbed, switch off the flame.
Dish it out and serve the delicious gajar ka halwa.
TIPS:
1. The base of the cooking pan should be thick.
2. Stir from time to time so that halwa does not stick.
3. Sprinkle finely chopped dry fruits for garnishing.
4. Add chopped almonds, pistachios, and cashew(Kaju) at step 4 if you like and mix it well. I do not add the almonds, Kaju, and pistachios as we can make tasty and delicious carrots halwa only using basic ingredients.
5. You can add more sugar if you like. It is all up to you.
