Stuffed cabbage rolls are prepared in less than 40 - 45 minutes. I will share a healthy recipe for stuffed cabbage by steaming it. The interesting fact is that we will make it without a steamer. Let's start with the stuffed cabbage rolls recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
1. Chicken mince 250 grams
2. Onion ( finely chopped) 1 medium size
3. Ginger garlic paste 2-3 teaspoons
4. Green chilli (finely chopped) 2 medium size
5. Green bell pepper (optional) 1/2 roughly chopped
6. Salt as per taste
7. Black pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon
8. Cinnamon powder 1/4 teaspoon
9. Medium Cabbage 7-8 leaves
10. Water 4-5 cups
11. Oil 3-4 tablespoons
DIRECTIONS:
1. Add 4 to 5 cups of water to a saucepan and let the lukewarm water on medium heat.
2. Add half a teaspoon of salt to the water and mix well.
3. In the lukewarm water, add cabbage leaves and boil them for 3-5 minutes. After boiling the leaves, take off the leaves from the water.
4. In the big bowl, add chicken mince, onion, 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil and ginger garlic paste. Mix all of them very well.
5. Add salt, black pepper powder, green chilli, green bell pepper and cinnamon powder to the chicken mince mixture and mix well.
6. Take the cabbage leaf and take some of the chicken mince mixture and put it in between of leaf. Fold the cabbage leaf around the mixture carefully.
7. By this prepare all the stuffed cabbage rolls.
10. The water in which cabbage leaves are boiled. Bring the boil again. When the water boils, put a Flat colander or sieve on the saucepan.
11. Put cabbage rolls into the colander or sieve and brush the oil on each roll. Now cover the rolls with a lid for 10-15 minutes.
12. See if the cabbage rolls are cooked or not. if not cooked, cover again with the lid for 4-5 minutes and check it.
13. Now, take a pan (Tawa) and heat it fully. Put cabbage rolls on it to get beautiful golden brown colour on them. Heat each side for 1-2 minutes.
Prepare sauce:
Take 4-5 tablespoons of tomato ketchup in a small bowl, add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic paste,1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/3 teaspoon of chilli flakes. Mix them well. And enjoy your prepared stuffed cabbage rolls.
Now serve the cabbage rolls with your favourite sauce.
TIPS:
1. You can add your spices according to your taste.
2. You can freeze unsteam stuffed rolls on an airtight pack in a refrigerator.
3. You can add beef or mutton mince instead of chicken mince. For beef or mutton mince, cook it in oil separately before stuffing. During cooking, add salt and chilli flakes according to your taste.
